This time I want to concetrate on something really disturbing, for me at least it is.
I recieved a message from a group with a decline and an explanation.
"I'm sorry, but for me your pic has nothing particular: it's just a pic of a flower...
We have hundreds of submissions per day, and we don't want to flood our members' message centre. So we have to be selective. "
To be clear, it is not something to be offended, but saying that it's just a flower is devestating to me. How can someone tell to a nature photographer that it's just a simple flower. To a photographer that wanders around whole day looking for a perfect chance to take just one photo... I'm not taking my photos in home and I don't make fake drops and I don't pick up flowers. I am a NATURE photographer. To me what I do is like nature photojournalism. So, when someone tells me that it is just a flower, I get really offended. Not because of quality of my photo, because I know that, with this camera, it can't be something so good, but because of the wrong attitude of people. When I see a photo of a woman or a man, I can always say: "But hey, it is just a photo of a woman!" Would that be fair? No. Why? Because people have personality blah blah blah... I will stop here by saying that people go away, they are eraised by time, and nature is forever... I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but untill someone shows me different, I will continue to think that every single flower is like a wonder.

I would like to hear your oppinion.


Update NO.2:

I don't want to write a new journal because I still want to point out how much this subject means to me. I am not angry, and I'm pointing that out. There are so many artists that aren't shown enoguh, but they deserve it. I'm on dA for a bit over than two years, and don't know what is happening to this place. It used to be the first place I would visit when I turn on my computer. Now, it isn't, and it isn't because I don't have much time to enjoy my hobby, but because dA is turning to be like facebook. People put low quality snapshots like photography, and stock are getting DDs and, to me, everything seems like a big mess. It has become a place to fav and run without leaving any constructive comment. Like facebook... Everybody hs their own oppinion, and I won't claim that mine is the right one, but so many good artists who deserve DD don't get that because they aren't popular enough. I sent some propositions for photography DDs but I never recieved an answer. Don't know, maybe I'm taking all this too serious. It is maybe because, since I registered here and recieved some critiques and seen some artists, that my photos became better. I met great people too. People that, now, I can't imagine my life without them. I want dA to be what it used to be, not facebook but DEVIANTART!
